Debug options (Yuffie)[edit | edit source]

There is a model of Yuffie in this room that, when interacted with, brings up a list of debug options. These options are as follows:

  • Page 1:
    • NEXT — Opens page 2.
    • MENU ON — Enables any grayed-out menu commands, most notably allowing the player to use the PHS and save the game.
    • BATTLE LOCK — Deactivates battles. Does not persist between fields on the PC version, so has no practical use.
    • BATTLE UNLOCK — Activates battles.
    • MOVIE LOCK — Deactivates FMVs. Like BATTLE LOCK, does not persist between fields on PC.
    • MOVIE UNLOCK — Activates FMVs.
    • GLOBAL RESET — Resets all variables to their default values.
    • FULL NAME — Sets every character's name to either all M's or all W's. However, the names are actually too long to fit in the allotted space, so it overflows into their equipment slots:
      • Cloud, Tifa, Red XIII, Yuffie and Cid are renamed with all M's, and each get a Pile Banger as their weapon, a Fairy Ring as their armor, and a nameless glitched accessory.
      • Barret, Aerith, Cait Sith and Vincent are renamed with all W's, and each get a Plus Barrette as their weapon, a Safety Bit as their armor, and a glitched accessory called "tect Vest".
    • NEW START — Sends the player to md1stin.
    • EXIT — Closes the menu.
  • Page 2:
    • BACK — Opens page 1.
    • SOUND RESET — Resets all sounds.
    • FULL MATERIA — Fills up the player's inventory with nearly every materia in the game, until their materia menu is completely full.
    • BATTLE999 — Triggers BATTLE999. After the battle, the party is fully healed.
    • EXIT — Closes the menu.
